ABOUT ME

I was fortunate enough to grow up on the west coast of France, in a rural region wedged between the sandy waters of the Gironde estuary and the wild Atlantic Ocean. From an early age, I spent my time immersed in water, from days spent surfing learning the intimate secrets of the ocean waves, to time spent discovering the rich flora and fauna of the wetlands where my grandparents tended their oyster pools.

In 2014 while pursuing a master’s degree in economics and finance, I purchased a second-hand camera and discovered my passion for photography. This newfound love led me to work as a portraitist in a professional studio in the French Alps and as a sports photographer for DE Photo in the UK. Yet, my heart always beat strongest for nature photography, especially waterscapes.

I started to notice that wherever I went and whatever landscape I was photographing something kept drawing me back to that one element: water. I felt most inspired on days spent on sand dunes and clifftops capturing wave breaks between intense sea sprays or wading into icy lochs to capture a dusk light setting between storm clouds. It is exhilarating how much a body of water will change a landscape, from year to year or even hour by hour. It thrills me that I can take completely different shots in the same location using a long exposure or a fast shutter speed, capturing low or high tide, or waiting for the right wave to fit in my composition.

A thirst for travel meant spending the majority of my 20s living abroad, before deciding to make Scotland my home. I first came to Scotland in 2016 to visit my now wife in Edinburgh, and since then I have been captivated by its majestic landscapes. I vividly remember the way my eyes lit up the first time she took me to Glencoe, and the overwhelming awe I felt looking up at the steep mountain peaks illuminated with this unique light. Since then, I have travelled to the Scottish Highlands multiple times a year to photograph their rugged terrains, dramatic seascapes, and enchanting lochs and it has become a major source of inspiration in my work.

I am now a professional landscape photographer based in Scotland, and I hope to inspire others to connect with nature. I run landscape photography workshops in Scotland, exhibit my work in art galleries, sell captivating prints, and give talks at camera clubs to share my passion for landscape photography.
